Put Your New Home to Work this Mother’s Day: Celebrations You Can Do at Home with Mom

Whether you’re a father, a child, or mother yourself, you know that Mother’s Day is a special day. This year, put your new home to work and celebrate the day with Mom at home! After all, home is where the heart is! Here are some things that you can do to ensure that Mom has the best Mother’s Day yet!
1. Plan for Some Solo Mom Time
Your mom will love it if you plan some quiet, solo time for her where she can soak in her new tub, catch a few rays on the back porch or read her favorite book in a cozy corner. These are just some of the ways Mom can enjoy some much-deserved alone time at home. And don’t forget about breakfast in bed in that brand-new master bedroom!
2. Plant Some Flowers Spring-Tips-for-taking-Care-of-Your-New-Home
Rather than giving Mom flowers this Mother’s Day, although that’s always a good play, why don’t you plant some together? Being in a brand-new home is exciting. Add some vibrant, fresh color to your landscape by planting some of Mom’s favorite flowers. Flower-planting is a great and inexpensive way to get everyone outside for some quality family time, and to have those heart-felt conversations with Mom that we all cherish. Want to surprise her even more? Take the evening before (or during her hour of alone time) and put together a beautiful hanging pot or planter for her to enjoy this Spring. Nothing spells “We Love Mom” like fresh flowers.
3. Cook a Special Meal in Your New Hayden Homes’ Kitchen
Since you now have a brand-new kitchen, put it to good use by cooking a meal that your mom will love. You can go for one of her traditional favorites, or surprise her with an exotic “vacation” meal at home. For example, if the theme is Tropical Island, you can decorate the house, make some fresh guacamole, and whip up Mom an extra special Mother’s Day margarita.
Hugs and Kisses on Mother's DayYou could also plan a special combined Mother’s Day brunch, taking advantage of your new, dining room. Invite over Grandma and any sisters of your mom – as well as other close friends and family – to make the shared brunch experience meaningful.
4. Don’t Forget About Hugs and Kisses
Let’s face it. Mom’s don’t get enough affection for all that they do. Mothers love affection on Mother’s Day (and every other day of the year, for that matter), so give your mom plenty of hugs and kisses this holiday. Hugs and kisses go great with: heartfelt letters of appreciation, homemade cards and art projects, Mother’s Day treats, and compliments.

5. Capture the Day
Capture the day on Mother's Day
For each activity, you do this Mother’s Day, take a picture. At the end of the day, present your mom with a few decorative frames, and explain to her that you have taken pictures, and will have the photos printed and hung in your new home for decoration, a way to celebrate Mom, and a way to commemorate a wonderful day together at home.
Happy Mother’s Day!
From Hayden Homes to all moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you take this Mother’s Day to celebrate YOU!
