We value strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and a work\/life balance.<br \/>\nWe currently have regional Construction Internship openings in North Washington\/Spokane, South Washington\/Tri-Cities, Central Oregon, Willamette Valley Oregon, and Idaho (Treasure Valley).<br \/>\n<strong>What You Get To Do<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>Our interns work alongside and under the supervision of our professional project managers and will also have interaction with team members in customer service, our sales department and our trade partners.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Construction Intern<\/strong> will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schedule inspections from the city encompassing foundation to building final. Correspondingly schedule trade partner to make corrections noted on those inspections.<\/li>\n<li>Material management. (Purchase Order&#8217;s, Variance Purchase Order&#8217;s and returns).<\/li>\n<li>Final Quality Assurance inspections.<\/li>\n<li>Pick up work before and after warranty Quality Assurance, New Home Orientation\u2019s and Sales Turn Over&#8217;s. (Paint, drywall, adjustments or anything that takes less than 1\/2 hour per item or is purely cosmetic).<\/li>\n<li>Schedule trade partners for pick up work before and after Quality Assurance&#8217;s, New Home Orientation&#8217;s and Sales Turn Over&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>Other Quality inspections. (mostly Framing Quality Inspection&#8217;s).<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning up job site and houses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Education\/Experience<\/span><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of two years of college studies in construction management, civil engineering or related field.<\/li>\n<li>Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college in the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Previous construction experience a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Requirements<\/span><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to work in all types of weather.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel overnight for company purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well with co-workers and trades in unsupervised situations.<\/li>\n<li>Solid organizational abilities and customer service skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills and an ability to establish positive relationships with all levels of the organization as well as build relationships with outside resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Travel<\/span><strong>: <\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0Daily travel within local and regional areas assigned, with mileage reimbursement. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet in the office, and moderate to loud in the field.<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Physical Demands<\/span><strong>: <\/strong>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to grab, pull, push and lift. The employee must occasionally lift and\/or move up to 25 &#8211; 40 pounds or more. An example of lifting are cabinets, appliances or other construction related items.<br \/>\nThe employee will have to walk on uneven\/unfinished surfaces such as rocky grades and around disturbed surfaces such as trenches or un-graded areas, construction debris, etc. The employee must also stand, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb. The employee may have to step up or down to get into or out of homes under construction (at times 2\u2019 or more). The employee may be required to position and use a 6\u2019-8\u2019 ladder for light work such as painting, caulking or other light duty construction tasks.<br \/>\nThis job description is a general description of the job.
