Part 2:
After some persuading and promises of “just looking,” we went with my parents to see Michelle at the Hayden Homes model home in SW Bend. She showed us the homes in Aspen Rim (where her model is locate
d) and we all really liked what we saw there. I knew these homes in Aspen Rim were slightly out of our price range (sad!) but we could easily see that the homes were built well – the thing my dad was most concerned about when he heard about the rock bottom prices in Merrick. After learning more about our options and how Hayden Homes works, we were excited to hear that we could choose the plan we wanted on the lot we wanted – AND pick out the colors and accessories we liked. My mom (an artist and interior decorator) loved the features in the model home. I’m glad I took Ian and my parents together – everyone was on board with the idea after we left Michelle.
We then decided to drive by Merrick in NE Bend, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that this community had mountain views and was really close to a big shopping center and restaurants. Everything was coming together so well – I knew it was meant to be! Ian was starting to come around on the idea, although his excitement still didn’t quite match mine.
