HAYDEN WATSON, Owner / CEO
Having founded the homebuilding company with his father Robert Watson in 1989, Hayden Watson became President of Hayden Homes in 1992. He credits the countless hours of time spent with his father mentoring him to learn the business for his success. In 1999, upon Robert’s retirement, Hayden assumed the CEO position for the company. Mr. Watson’s energy, passion and entrepreneurial spirit have greatly influenced and inspired the company at large, and that continues to be a constant today.
Mr. Watson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Pacific-Stockton, and has since amassed extensive experience in finance, land acquisition, development and sales. As past President and a current member of the National Home Builder Association Builder 20 organization, attending the Harvard Business Executive Manager Program, he continues to pursue additional experience, knowledge and skill in the industry.
DENNIS MURPHY, President
Dennis Murphy began his employment with Hayden Homes in 1993. Having been certified in Engineering and Construction, he quickly assumed the Land and Construction efforts for Hayden Homes throughout Washington and Oregon. In 1999 he became President of Hayden Homes. Over the last 10 years, Mr. Murphy has led Hayden Homes to become the Northwest’s largest and most successful homebuilder.
Mr. Murphy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Chico, where he would later be honored as Alumni of the Year. Also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Managers program, he is dedicated to education’s lifelong benefits and advantages. Mr. Murphy has served as Chairman of the Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon and as Chairman of the Oregon Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization. He was recently named as a member of the Board of Directors for Washington Trust Bank based in Spokane, WA.
DEBORAH FLAGAN, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
With Hayden Homes in since 2000, Mrs. Flagan is Vice President of Sales and Marketing, overseeing the sales team throughout the Northwest as well as directing the marketing efforts in each region. Her passionate dedication to the company’s success has propelled the company to unprecedented sales figures.
Mrs. Flagan earned her Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University and attended Harvard Business School’s Strategy Development Program in 2005 and the Executive Program for Leadership Development in 2012.
An eastern Washington native, Mrs. Flagan lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband Dave. In her spare time, she is busy rooting on her beloved Washington State Cougars.
STEVE KLINGMAN, Vice President of Operations
Since moving to Central Oregon in 2000, Mr. Klingman has served Hayden Homes for twelve years. Starting as a construction project manager, he is now Vice President of Operations and oversees supply chain, purchasing, estimating, architectural design, construction, customer service and IT. His capacity to monitor such widespread operations has made him an invaluable member of the company.
Mr. Klingman earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico and completed the General Manager Program at Harvard Business School in 2006. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Director of A Third Party, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless children. Mr. Klingman was awarded the highest award for Achievement in a Dale Carnegie Course.
Steve lives with his wife Amanda and son Cole in Bend, Oregon and enjoys mountain biking and skiing.
